The first full day of training for Marko Marin with Werder Bremen was anything but easy. Not only were there three training sessions on the docket but temperatures rose to over 30 degrees. "The programme is sure exhausting. But I think I can recover now and tomorrow it will start all over again," said Marin shortly after his completed day of work.
Just like the late arrivals to Werder’s training, the 20-year-old Marin did one more session than the rest of the roster. Also in the group was Per Mertesacker, who was missing at Norderney and could not start full training until Bad Waltersdorf. "I really feel good and can tell that the rehab did a good job," said Mertesacker. Aaron Hunt (inflammation on foot) and Dusko Tosic (Patella tendon problem) also returned to training while goalkeeper Tim Wiese (cold) completed a running drill. "It seems like I overcame everything. Tomorrow I will push it a little more," said the German international, who will miss the test match against Czech club FK Jablonec 97. The cold is not the reason for that but instead head coach Thomas Schaaf announcing he would rotate in the goalkeeper position. After Sebastian Mielitz played against Rot-Weiss Essen, Felix Wiedwald versus Leer/Loga and Tim Wiese against Sturm Graz, the fourth of the keepers Christian Vander will be between the posts.
There were also no updates on Naldo (adductors problem), who also had running training; and Marcelo Moreno (Achilles tendon problem), who did strength drills. It remains unclear if the two South Americans can play against Jablonec.
