The second day in Austria was another very hot summer day for Werder. Both of the training sessions called by head coach Thomas Schaaf demanded quite a bit from all the Green-Whites. But the work day was over early for Tim Wiese. He left the afternoon practice prematurely and was taken by a Werder mini-van back to the team's hotel, leaving behind the bike he used to ride to the Thermen stadium. The goalkeeper had a cold and wanted to err on the side of caution. "I just did not feel very good, was weak and had achy limbs. Maybe it will go away with a bit of rest," said the keeper. He will need at least one day of rest.
Out of training on Sunday was Aaron Hunt, who had an inflamed blister on his foot. Naldo (adductor problems), Dusko Tosic (Patella tendon) and Marcelo Moreno (Achilles tendon pain) all completed only individual training programs. There will be an addition to the Bremen squad on Monday, when Marko Marin joins the team. He will arrive in Bad Waltersdorf in mid-day.
