The fourth day of the training camp at Norderney saw the first injury for Werder. While Sebastian Prödl was out sick, Dusko Tošiæ had to leave the morning session due to problems with his patellar tendon and could not participate in the afternoon practice. Otherwise everyone else was on board and completed the usual schedule of the past couple days. The morning beach run was followed again by intensive athleticism work in the morning and intensive technical and tactical drills in the afternoon with a final run back to the team hotel.
During the afternoon training, manager Klaus Allofs arrived at training camp. He spent the weekend working but was relaxed in answering media members' questions about latest talk of new transfers. Allofs confirmed on-going activity regarding Tim Borowski and Claudio Pizarro but offered up no concrete details. "We are hopeful that things move forward soon. And we are doing everything we can to finish off our roster as soon as possible with the right mix of players," said Allofs. It remains a possibility of loaning out players. For example there have been "intensive talks" with all parties involved about Carlos Alberto. "But first of all, everyone has the chance of being in the forefront at the training camps - also those players who have not been satisfied recently with their situations," added Allofs.
