For the start of the final week of training of the season, head coach Thomas Schaaf had his team take a lactate test Tuesday morning at the third division team grounds Platz 11. Besides the long-term injured Daniel Jensen and Per Mertesacker, also missing was Diego, who was in Turin working out the final details for the now-completed transfer to Juventus Turin. The Brazilian arrived back in Bremen during the day. He will return to team training again tomorrow," said Schaaf.

Surprisingly not on board was team captain Frank Baumann. "I have slight muscle problems," said Baumann on Tuesday while his coach added: "He had back problems and we hope that he will be back tomorrow."

Sebastian Boenisch was also missing from the team's running test after suffering a sprained ankle ligament when he rolled the ankle in the last minute of the final Bundesliga match in Wolfsburg. "He had to receive treatment today and he will not be with us tomorrow either. But we hope that Sebastian can return to training on Thursday," said Thomas Schaaf. Otherwise there were no injuries to report. "Otherwise no other players have serious issues," added the coach.
