Werder Bremen's semi-final opponent Hamburg can call upon the services of Mladen Petric and Alex Silva for the UEFA Cup return leg on Thursday night. Hamburg coach Martin Jol told the official UEFA Cup press conference at HSH Nordbank Arena that "everyone is available". The coach also said Marcell Jansen is ready after fighting with a bruised rib.
Jansen would take another penalty
When asked what he thought of his team's chances of reaching the final, Jol said Wednesday morning they were 50-50. "The starting position is good as long as we don't allow any goals," said the coach. Marcell Jansen sees the team on the right path and definitely wants to reach the final. But the midfielder does not expect another penalty shoot-out at HSH Nordbank Arena, adding: "I don't think it will come to that." Jansen said he and his team-mates have forgotten about the German Cup semi-final, where he missed from the spot. "I didn't shoot that well that day and the keeper held pretty well. But of course I would step up and take a penalty every time," emphasised Jansen.
