It was his moment. One more time, rowing his arms and jumping back and forth along his line. One more time, blocking out the whistles and flying beer cups. One more time, looking the shooter in the eyes. And then one more time, extending himself to the fullest! Shot blocked! Werder moves into the final and Tim Wiese is released from his shackles. The Bremen keeper goes crazy, waving his jersey all over the pitch. He was determined to head to his fans in the opposite curve.

"That was one of the greatest moments in my career and I can't celebrate in front of the Hamburg fan block. So, I stepped on it to get to our Werder fans as fast as I could," said the hero of the night, the man who blocked three Hamburg penalties. "I knew I really had to do something special after I made some bold statements before the game. I always had the feeling that it would be my day. I was so calm. And that it worked out is absolute gratification," said the keeper and sending his team into the German DFB Cup final.

"We really all earned this together. We were the better team for 120 minutes, never had a home game this season in the cup and beat teams like Dortmund and Wolfsburg," continued the keeper who did not think at all that his euphoric sprint across the entire pitch meant his exhausted team-mates had to chase him down to finally celebrate. "We had been running for 120 minutes already and then we had to race after him too," said Sebastian Boenisch. "If we weren't tired we may have caught him. But we had no chance."
