While many Werder players are travelling with their national teams, Bremen's injured players are working to get fit as quickly as possible and return to team training. Markus Rosenberg took some laps around the training grounds after passing on the Swedish international match because of muscle problems. German international Frank Baumann also completed an individual training program.

"Running went just fine. But it will still take a few days until I can get back into team training," said Rosenberg after his workout. German international Torsten Frings and German U21 international Mesut Özil both had to miss national team duty as well injured but were not able to take the pitch. Frings said he hopes to return by the end of the week if everything goes as planned. He is currently labouring with a bruised ankle.
