Werder Bremen ranks only behind Bayern Munich as the second most-liked German club in Europe. That was the result of the second annual survey by the marketing research company Sport+Markt, which questioned about 10,000 fans between the ages of 15 and 69 years from 16 European countries.
The Green-Whites ranked 22nd in the survey with 4.9 million fans. First place once again was FC Barcelona with 44.2 million fans ahead of Real Madrid (41 million) and Manchester United (37.6 million). Bayern Munich ended in ninth place with 19.8 million fans as the best-ranked German club. Behind Bayern and Werder among German clubs were Hamburger SV (28th place with 3.3 million supporters), Borussia Dortmund (29th, 3.1 million) and FC Schalke 04 (33rd, 2.6 million).
