Just before the end of the transfer period, Werder Bremen secured the services of Hungarian striker Marko Futacs. The 18-year-old attacker, who played this season for French club AS Nancy’s U23 side, signed a professional contract for two-and-a-half years until 30 June 2011. Bremen manager Klaus Allofs confirmed the deal Tuesday afternoon.
The Budapest native is a Hungarian junior international who will wear the number 30 with Bremen. He is still in Nancy but will begin training with Werder in the coming days.
About the transfer, manager Klaus Allofs said: "Marko is a young player with perspective who we have observed for some time now. The opportunity was good to bring him to us so we decided to take the step. We hope that he can continue to develop with us.”
