The Werder professionals are preparing intensively for the second half of the Bundesliga, but not all players are available unfortunately. Besides Naldo and Clemens Fritz, who both hope to return to training soon, another player missing is Aaron Hunt. But the 21-year-old will still plenty more time as he fights knee problems.
"It has gotten a little bit better. But I can only ride the bike right now. I can't even think about running. But the most unsatisfying thing for me is that the doctors cannot really tell exactly where the pain is coming from. They can't find anything in the knee itself. That is okay," said the U21 international. "The pains presumably come from a dysfunction during running in the hips or ankle." It's entirely unclear when Hunt can return to team training.
Meanwhile, Wednesday saw Petri Pasanen and goalkeeper Christian Vander return to training. Pasanen had been out due to an infection while Vander was dealing with a ligament injury. But both were able to complete the entire team practice on Wednesday morning. "Everything is back to normal for me," said Pasanen after training.
