Werder Bremen have a new player trying out. Since Tuesday, the 22-year-old Douglas Junior Ross Santillana - or Junior Ross for short - has had the chance to try out with Werder. The striker from Lima is among the most talented footballers in Peru and has already earned 18 caps for the South American country's national team. "We have been scouting him for years now and wanted to give him a chance to prove himself under other conditions and in a different environment. Therefore he will be training with the Bundesliga squad for the next couple days," confirmed manager Klaus Allofs.

The young Peruvian began his professional career in 2004 with his home club Coronel Bolognesi before moving onto Cienciano and Alianza Lima and back to Coronel Bolognesi. His current season includes eight goals in 24 matches.
