The UEFA Cup draw, which will take place at 1pm on Friday, 19.12.2008, is currently being eagerly awaited by all at Werder. 18 clubs, whose fate will be decided in the final round of group games...

The UEFA Cup draw, which will take place at 1pm on Friday, 19.12.2008, is currently being eagerly awaited by all at Werder. 18 clubs, whose fate will be decided in the final round of group games today and tomorrow, could prove possible opponents for the Green-Whites in the next round of the competition.

 

In the round of the last 32 clubs, Werder Bremen are guaranteed to face one of the second placed teams from the eight UEFA Cup groups. An all German clash is only possible, at the earliest, in the round of the last 16 and so, cannot occur at this stage. As one of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, Werder will begin their UEFA Cup campaign with a home tie.

 

Werder’s possible opponents in the round of the last 32 are:

Manchester City, FC Twente Enschede, Metalist Kharkov, Galatasaray Istanbul, Standard Liege, FC Sevilla, Udinese Calcio, Tottenham Hotspurs, AC Milan, Aston Villa, Ajax Amsterdam, AS St. Etienne, FC Valencia, FC Bruges, FC Copenhagen, AS Nancy, Deportivo La Coruna und Lech Poznan.

- Final: 20.05.2009 at the Sükrü-Saracoðlu-Stadium in Istanbul
