During the Green-Whites training session on Wednesday, Daniel Jensen did some laps of the training facility whilst the rest of his team mates trained together. Again and again the Dane came in search of a ball to kick about and guide around the pitch during his laps. The midfielder’s eagerness to return to the pitch is very clear to see: “I’ve been wearing football boots for the past three days, I’m definitely improving,” grinned the 28 year old following the session: “My feet will need to get used to the boots again.”
But just when the Danish international will be fit enough to make an appearance in the Bundesliga again is as yet still in question: “I don’t think there’s much chance of playing on Saturday or in the game against Inter but maybe I’ll be able to play a part in the final pre-Christmas game against Wolfsburg.” It would be a very positive end to a tough season for Jensen, who has been out of action for several weeks with an Achilles problem.
“The problem is that it’s not a bone and you can’t see when it’s healed. I have to wait and access the day to day reaction to each training session,” explained the Dane on his long absence. “It’s really a pity that the winter break is just about to kick in now that I am slowly getting back to fitness but I can make use of the time off to work intensively on catching up on the training deficit.”
