There was a rather small turn-out once again for Werder Bremen’s training session on Tuesday. Due to the round of international games, only 14 Green-Whites remained in Bremen for training. Clemens Fritz and Sebastian Boenisch were part of that group but didn’t train with the rest of their team mates. They instead went through individual programmes.
“The run went quite well for me, but I have to admit, I did feel some strain in my thigh. I will have to wait and see now just how my muscles react to the training,” explained Boenisch following his Tuesday afternoon session. Clemens Fritz is also quite satisfied with his development: “I’m on the right road. We are increasing the workload daily to see how the muscles react,” commented the German international.
Fritz is not about to over-do it though: “I need a few more days but hope to be able to train with the rest of the team by the end of the week. Problems with muscles are always very sensitive issues.” The fact is though, both players remain very doubtful for the northern derby clash with Hamburg SV on Sunday.”
