Günter Perl will take charge of Werder’s Bundesliga clash against surprise package 1899 Hoffenheim at the Weser Stadium on Saturday, 27.09.2008 (kick-off 3:30pm). For the 37 year old, who has been refereeing games in Germany’s top flight since 2005, it will be his 48th Bundesliga game. The man from Munich will be assisted by Josef Maier (Munich) and Tobias Welz (Wiesbaden). Fourth official Matthias Anklam from Buchholz makes up the quartet of officials.

Werder Ticket-Manager Jörg Fürst announced today that the Weser Stadium is now completely sold out for the top match of the day: “On this occasion we will be packed out with some 40,000 spectators. The normal capacity for a Bundesliga game is 42,100 but we cannot fill that many places because there will be seating in the visitors block where normally the fans stand.” Even the 1,000 tickets which were returned unsold by the visiting team had been sold to Werder fans by Friday afternoon.
