Werder Bremen’s Clemens Fritz was in Germany’s staring eleven, and played the full 90 minutes, as they convincingly beat Lichtenstein 6-0 away on Saturday evening. The Werder man, who was once again in action on the right side of the back four and left a good impression, as Germany made an impressive start to their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.

 

The 7,842 strong capacity crowd at the Rheinpark-Stadium saw goals scored by Lukas Podolski (21’, 48’), Simon Rolfes (65’), Bastian Schweinsteiger (66’), Thomas Hitzlsperger (76’) and Heiko Westermann (86’).
