Following the visit of Israeli fans in May 2008, between 11.11 and 16.11.2008, Werder fans, together with employees of the ‘Bremer-Fan Project’, will travel to Israel. The exchange partners for the event are the educational institution for inter-cultural encounters, ‘Dialog’, and the fan organisation ‘Israfans’. Werder Bremen will support the journey with, among other things, proceeds from the ‘CITIBANK Man of the Match’ award.

On the schedule for the trip there are such events as an exchange with ‘Israfans’ in Tel Aviv and visits to Haifa, Jerusalem and the stronghold Massada on the Dead Sea. The Bremen delegation will have a chance to explore the old city of Jerusalem and visit the holocaust memorial ‘Yad Vashem’.

Naturally football itself won’t be coming up too short during the journey. The group will be live in the stadium with the Israeli fans for the local derby between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv. The travelling party will also visit Beit Jala in Palestine where they will meet up with local youths. During their stay the fans will be accommodated in some of the top youth hostels in Kibbuz Nachsholim on the Mediterranean Sea as well as with Israeli host families.

ATTENTION: The Bremer Fan Project is still looking for interested young Werder Bremen fans to make the trip. Those interested should register with Thomas Hafke at 0421 / 498024 or send a mail to info@fanprojektbremen.de.
