This season’s starting eleven debuts from Clemens Fritz, Torsten Frings and Boubacar Sanogo proved to be successful. On Monday evening, Werder Bremen won their pre-season friendly in St. Gallen 4:0.

This season’s starting eleven debuts from Clemens Fritz, Torsten Frings and Boubacar Sanogo proved to be successful. On Monday evening, Werder Bremen won their pre-season friendly in St. Gallen 4:0. Torsten Frings put the Bundesliga side in front after a quarter hour with a penalty after a clear hand ball in the box and ten minutes later, Boubacar Sanogo doubled the deficit. The 4:0 romp was completed by an opportunists strike from Frank Baumann (61’) and Dusko Tošiæ's first even goal for the Green-Whites (86’).

 

Following their seventh win in seven pre-season friendlies, the Werder players went through their final training session in Schruns on Tuesday. The trip home will begin on Wednesday, 30.07.2008, with a brief stopover in Rostock for a further friendly against Hansa.
