5:1 in Ottersberg – Werder pass the first test

Werder Bremen made a positive start to the first week of training in preparation for the 2008/2009 season. Kitted out in their new ‘Event’ shirts, the Green-Whites convincingly beat non-league TSV Ottersberg 5:1 (3:0) on Friday evening.

In front of a 6,000 strong crowd, 17 year old Pascal Testroet and Aaron Hunt got the scoring started early for Werder. Daniel Jensen, Niklas Andersen and Marc Heider concluded the scoring for the Bundesliga side. Ottersberg’s Patrick Peter scored the consolation goal for his team, much to the pleasure of the home fans. With Sebastian Prödl, Pascal Testroet, Philipp Bargfrede and Marc Heider, Werder had four debutants in the side whilst Petri Pasanen and Christian Vander, who are both carrying knocks, were rested. Markus Rosenberg, who has just returned to training after his summer break, was also left out on the day.
