“I’m not feeling any pain now, everything went off without a problem,” commented Pasanen at the end of the training session and subsequently, trainer Thomas Schaaf gave the Finn the green light for the Hannover tie. The Werder squad will also include Torsten Frings who is eligible to play again having sat out his one match suspension in Hamburg.
On the down side, the season is now over for Jurica Vranjes. The Croatian midfielder was red carded on Wednesday evening and, as a result, has been banned for two games. Vranjes will be replaced in the squad for Saturday by Peter Niemeyer.
The complete squad for the final home game of the season is:
Tim Wiese, Christian Vander, Petri Pasanen, Naldo, Clemens Fritz, Patrick Owomoyela, Per Mertesacker, Daniel Jensen, Peter Niemeyer, Mesut Özil, Aaron Hunt, Diego, Torsten Frings, Tim Borowski, Markus Rosenberg, Ivan Klasnic, Boubacar Sanogo, Hugo Almeida
