“I can still feel a slight twinge in the adductor area but I’ll get over that. I just hope now to be able to avoid a further forced lay-off,” explained Niemeyer on his way back towards the changing rooms.
With the return of the midfielder, trainer Thomas Schaaf is now missing just two of his first team players, in the form of club captain Frank Baumann and Sebastian Boenisch. Both went through individual training programmes on Thursday.
