There was no denying the great disappointment etched on the faces of the Werder players following Saturday’s 1:2 defeat at home to bottom side MSV Duisburg. The loss was a further blow to the Green-Whites already flagging self-confidence and after the match, Tim Wiese and Ivan Klasnic found some very clear words to describe their feelings.
Tim Wiese (goalkeeper Werder Bremen): “We didn’t get going today at all. We didn’t find our way into the game and we were not aggressive. We are completely off form at the moment. That is definitely not how we imagined this would work out. We need to look now at where the problems are and improve on that next week. We are definitely good enough.”
Ivan Klasnic (striker Werder Bremen): “We wanted to risk everything in the second half, repair all the damage but that didn’t happen for us. We only have ourselves to blame though. We’ll look at everything now and analyse the situation. We haven’t found the solution to our problem yet but I’m convinced we will have it soon.”
