Werder Bremen’s general manager Klaus Allofs has again exemplified his trust in the Green-Whites strikers. In spite of the rather moderate haul by the front men in recent weeks, the former Werder attacker commented: “We are still absolutely convinced that we are well represented in attack. We have a lot of very good strikers, if I count Aaron Hunt and Martin Harnik amongst them then we have even more. No one of them is distinctly better than the other and that’s something I consider to be positive.”
Allofs has acknowledged a quite poor period for the front men: “Unfortunately we are not scoring goals at the moments and there are several reasons for that. They are all going through a difficult phase. I do believe though, that they need just a taste of success to set them back on track.”
The Werder strikers will continue to be supported by the offensively minded Werder system. The team manager sees no need for a move away from the existing tactical plan: “We need to continue playing to our strengths, which include creativity, and they lies our attacking game. All we need is a better balance between attack and defence.”
