On Thursday afternoon, Petri Pasanen prematurely extended his contract with Werder Bremen. The Finnish international agreed terms with general manager Klaus Allofs to keep him under contract at the club until 30.06.2011. Having signed on the dotted line, Petri Pasanen stated to WERDER.TV: “I have found my place here in Bremen. I have played here at the very top level for three years now and have the opportunity to stay on for another three years of the same. That’s why I made my decision.”
For general manager Klaus Allofs, the extension of the contract is a further step along in securing the clubs future: “Petri is a very reliable player who is capable of playing in any position”, explained a very satisfied Allofs.
Head coach Thomas Schaaf agreed with the words of the team manager and was delighted about the decision of the defensive all-rounder: “He has shown once again this season just how consistent a performer he is and how important he is for the team.”
The 27 year old Finn has been at Werder since the summer of 2004 and in that time he has made 76 Bundesliga appearances for the Green-Whites, scoring three goals along the way.
