The fact that the Green-Whites are capable of scoring plenty of goals has been well documented in the Bundesliga and Werder Bremen’s regular success in front of goal has put them on top of the goal-scoring list on several occasions in the top flight. With that in mind, it is only logical that the odd scorcher would be included in their lot.

Two prime example of Bremen’s best are currently on the shortlist for the ‘ARD Sportschau Goal of the Week’ and voting will continue until Saturday, 22.03.2008. Diego scored a very memorable goal on an amazing night of football in the UEFA Cup against Glasgow Rangers at the Weser Stadium on 13.03.2008. The wiry Brazilian flicked the ball over the heads of two opposing defenders before hammering into the far corner with a left footed volley.

Werder’s second option for the voters in the ‘Goal of the Week’ was delivered by young striker Kevin Schindler. The 19 year old demonstrated just how much power he possesses with a spectacular 35 meter drive to level the scores at 1:1 as the Werder reserves took on Kickers Emden.
