The argument between Aaron Hunt and Diego following last week’s UEFA Cup tie in Glasgow, which hit the headlines on Wednesday, has long since been cleared up and will have no effect on the team going into Thursday’s clash with Rangers. "It was the type of discussion which occurs within every team following a defeat. I can understand the agitation", explained Aaron Hunt. "We had a bit of an altercation, which had begun previously on the pitch, but the whole thing is over now in my opinion. We have cleared up the problem. Diego apologised for his reaction and there is no problem between us."
The issue is now officially a thing of the past: "Following the game against Rangers last week there was a scuffle between Aaron Hunt and Diego in the changing room. The incident has long since been resolved between the individuals involved and the rest of the team", confirmed general manager Klaus Allofs, and in doing so, put the issue to bed for once and for all.
