The focus during the current Werder training sessions is completely set on the UEFA Cup second leg clash with Glasgow Rangers. Trainer Thomas Schaaf had his men back on the training pitch on Tuesday afternoon to file on the organisation of the team. And just as well, in the opinion of midfield man Daniel Jensen: “We need to get back to playing our style of football very quickly, with more order and discipline. We need to taste success again. After two defeats on the trot, things are not alright.”

Some of the players have long since torn themselves from their trough and are looking positively to the up-coming challenge. A confident Sebastian Boenisch commented after training on Tuesday: “It wasn’t exactly easy to put the last two games out of our minds but now I’m looking forward to the next opportunity to prove that we can do things a lot better.” Of course the full-back means Thursday night’s UEFA Cup return leg clash with Glasgow Rangers: “We are up for the battle. We have overcome several hurdles already this season. Our squad is strong enough and we know we can do it. Rangers have to come here now and we are not about to let them take anything away from us.” The Green-Whites are intending on turning over the Scots lead with fair aggression!!

Unclear at the moment is exactly which players will be available for the chase on Thursday. Whilst Clemens Fritz returned to full team training on Tuesday, the quartet of Boubacar Sanogo, Petri Pasanen, Frank Baumann and Ivan Klasnic all had to sit it out.
