When the Werder Bremen fans arrive in Glasgow, they can expect a friendly greeting from the Scottish fans in spite of the Green-White colours, which are also worn by Rangers arch rivals Celtic. The ‘Blue-Noses’ will greet their north German guests on match day with a specially organised ‘Fan-Zone’ in Merchants Square in Glasgow city centre.
Martin Bain, chief executive of Rangers FC said: "We are very much looking forward to having Werder Bremen as our guests in Glasgow next week and wish to warmly welcome the fans both in the city of Glasgow and at Ibrox Park. We hope the Werder fans will have lots of fun in the ‘Fan-Zone’ and hope that they will pay Ibrox Park a visit before the match."
Jim Templeton, president of the Rangers Supporters Assembly added: "Werder Bremen, just like Rangers, is a club with a long and proud history. The fans know that they are in a truly great football city when they visit Glasgow. As football supporters, we wish to extend a sincere welcome to the travelling Werder fans."
In the ‘Fan-Zone’, the Werder supporters will be able to visit the restaurants and bars when refreshments are required, there will also be the chance to play some indoor-football (3 players pro team), watch the cheerleaders dancing, listen to some music and gear up for the evenings event.
