Short, shorter, preparing for Frankfurt!!! - never before have the Green-Whites had so little time to prepare themselves for a match, but Werder will take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday less than two days after their 1:0 win against SC Braga.

Short, shorter, preparing for Frankfurt!!! - never before have the Green-Whites had so little time to prepare themselves for a match, but Werder will take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday less than two days after their 1:0 win against SC Braga. Due to the extremely late kick-off in Portugal, Thomas Schaaf’s men will be taking every possible second available for regeneration ahead of the fast approaching Bundesliga tie.
Literally from the point of the final whistle in Braga, the programme began for Frankfurt with a very concentrated ‘Warm-Down’ session. The light loosening of the muscles was followed by a pasta buffet directly in the stadium: "We allowed the players to eat right there in the stadium because it is important that they can recharge their batteries as quickly as possible. All we can hope for now is that everyone can get a good night’s sleep despite the strain. We are not going to be hectic in the time we have ahead of Saturday’s game", explained general manager Klaus Allofs.
Not hectic, but rather optimal time management is of the essence in this sort of situation. On Friday morning there was a short visit paid to the training pitch before the Werder crew headed off for the flight to Frankfurt. The players are dealing with the taxing situation in relaxed manner and Patrick Owomoyela declared: "My programme until Saturday consists of sleeping, eating, taking it easy and resting my bones!" Hopefully by 5:15pm on Saturday the burden of it all will be rewarded with three more points.
