Belgian Gumienny to referee Bremen versus Braga

Referee Serge Guminenny will take charge of Werder Bremen’s UEFA Cup second leg tie with SC Braga on Thursday, 21.02.2008 (kick-off 21:30 cet).

Referee Serge Guminenny will take charge of Werder Bremen’s UEFA Cup second leg tie with SC Braga on Thursday, 21.02.2008 (kick-off 21:30 cet).

 

The 35 year old referee from Belgium has refereed seven games in the competition since making his UEFA Cup debut in the 2003/2004 season, and he has dealt with a German side in the past too. On 15.09.2005, Gumienny was in charge as Bayer o4 Leverkusen suffered a 0:1 home defeat to ZSKA Sofia.

 

Prior to his European involvement, Gumienny gathered experience in both the Dutch and Belgian leagues. For Thursday’s games, the referee’s assistants and the fourth official will also be from Belgium.
