Werder Bremen’s much respected general manager Klaus Allofs has signed a three year extension to his contract with the club, which will see him remain a Green-White until at least 2012! That was the joyous news doing the rounds in Bremen today. Following his exclusive announcement of the news on WERDER.TV, Klaus Allofs held a press conference this afternoon to answer questions from a gathering of journalists.
“It was quite a simple decision”, explained the 51 year old and continued: “Of course there were financial issues involved but first and foremost the questions for me were - Where are things going with Werder Bremen, how is the future structured and what are the board of management expecting? Those things were the basis of the discussions we’ve been having in recent weeks and the last few days have just seen us put the finishing touches to the whole thing. We came to an agreement very quickly and for me the decision was emotionally a very easy one.”
