There was much speculation among the on-lookers as Petri Pasanen failed to show at Friday’s training session. Was Werder’s Finnish international the next Green-White out of the reckoning for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash with Bayern Munich? The answer, No!!! "Petri was not involved in today’s training session as a caution and nothing more. We expect to have him back with us tomorrow", explained coach Thomas Schaaf.
The situation is a similar one for Werder’s number 24, Tim Borowski. The midfield man, who had been suffering with a heel problem, is expected to be fit and available for Sunday’s game: "We imagine that his form will be as good as it was today", commented trainer Schaaf on the current state of affairs with the German international, who was able to complete the afternoon session.
One definite exemption from the squad for this weekend will be Ivan Klasnic. The Croatian went through an individual training programme and later admitted: "I do feel better but it’s not good enough for me to play on Sunday. I should be fit for Braga".
