With Werder Bremen’s clash with league leaders Bayern Munich looming this Sunday, three recently injured Green-Whites are hopeful of making a return to the team. Aaron Hunt and Petri Pasanen have declared themselves fit again whilst Tim Borowski is not yet ruling himself out.
Hunt had been suffering from some muscular problems at the beginning of the week and went through a specially devised rehabilitation programme but he is now back in full training with the rest of his team mates. The same applies to Perti Pasanen who has now recovered from a groin problem. Tim Borowski gave the green light again on Thursday following his heel injury but a decision will be made later as to whether or not he is fit enough to play a part in the Bundesliga tie.
There was equally good news from the players who were away on international duty during the week. All have returned unscathed and are fit and ready for this weekend’s challenge. On the down side, trainer Thomas Schaaf will have to make do without the services of Clemens Fritz and Sebastian Boenisch: “They definitely won’t be available to us for the game against Bayern”, exclaimed the coach. Both are still going through rehabilitation programmes and neither has been able to complete a full training session with the rest of the team as yet.
