Boenisch and Pasanen return to training

Sebastian Boenisch is hoping to return to the Werder squad soon after four and a half months out through injury.

On Wednesday morning, Sebastian Boenisch returned to team training. For the full-back it was the first session after a four and a half month injury lay-off: “Everyone who knows exactly how much I enjoy playing football will understand how happy I am right now”, remarked Boenisch at the end of the session.

Along with Boenisch, this morning saw Petri Pasanen back in training. The Finnish international had been taking it easy over the past couple of days due to a groin problem. Once again Frank Baumann, Christain Vander, Tim Wiese, Nico Pellatz and Clemens Fritz were involved in the training session on Wednesday whilst Kevin Artmann and Patrick Owomoyela undertook some light jogging.

 

Ivan Klasnic (capsule tear in left foot), Tim Borowski (heel problem), Aaron Hunt (muscular trouble), Torsten Frings (knee injury), Peter Niemeyer and Pierre Wome all went through individual rehabilitation programmes.
