On Tuesday evening, Werder Bremen’s offensive duo of Mesut Özil and Kevin Schindler were in action for the German U21 national side as they beat the Belgian Olympic Selection 2:1 (2:0).

Mesut Özil made the starting eleven for the game before being substituted in the seventieth minute to make way for his new club colleague Kevin Schindler. Both of the Green-Whites representatives played well and could be very satisfied with their performances after the game.

 

New man Özil had a part to play in the winning goal for Germany. It was Özil’s pass in the 42nd minute that sent Patrick Ebert on his way. The Berliner’s cross towards Ashkan Dejagah that was accidentally deflected over his own goal line by the Belgian defender.
