Clemens Fritz wasn’t quite sure if he should consider the training session on Tuesday to be his ‘Return to team training’, as he got to work with just four further first team professionals on the pitch: "There wasn’t much that could be done today and the trainer had the same programme lined up with the small group that I would have gone through in the rehabilitation session, so I worked with them", explained the German international, who is working back towards full fitness following his groin operation at the turn of the year.
Co-ordination training was on the schedule today for Clemes Fritz, Frank Baumann, Sebastian Boenisch, Tim Wiese and Nico Pellatz: "We had some shooting practice and a kick-about too", commented Fritz, who had no problems in dealing with the strain of the session: "We will see over the next couple of days if I will be up to a full session when the rest of the players come back from international duty. Tomorrow I hope to push myself a little bit further", said Fritz, although he is aware that he will not be fit enough to face Bayern Munich at the weekend.
Patrick Owomoyela and Christian Vander were not with their colleagues today but instead were involved in a friendly game with the reserves. Aaron Hunt, Ivan Klasnic, Tim Borowski, Pierre Wome and Torsten Frings each went through individual rehabilitation programmes.
