Werder striker John Jairo Mosquera will go on loan to second division Alemannia Aachen.

Werder striker John Jairo Mosquera will go on loan to second division Alemannia Aachen. The Columbian front man was involved in a trial training session and underwent a fitness test onThursday before signing his new contract at 9am on Friday morning. The loan move takes place with immediate effect and will finish on 30.06.2008.

General manager Klaus allofs made it very clear that the transfer is in no way connected to the players performances: “We are very satisfied with his development but it’s important for him now to play on a regular basis. Aachen is the perfect solution. Those responsible in Aachen work very well and our player can gather some very useful match practice there.”

John Jairo Mosquera came to Werder Bremen on 01.01.2006 from Columbian side Atletico Colombia. The talented striker was first set to work with the Werder reserves before going on loan to Danish first division club SonderjyskE (January 2006 – July 2006) and then second division (now Regionalliga) Wacker Burghausen (August 2006 – July 2007) in order to get some match practice. This season the South American made his Bundesliga debut with the Green-Whites and scored one goal in three games (a vital away winner in Cottbus). Thomas Schaaf has also used the young striker in the DFB Cup where he scored one of the four that Werder put past MSV Duisburg.
