It would appear as if the least wanted guest in the Buundesliga has set up house in Bremen with the ruthless monster of injury yet again rearing its ugly head amongst the Werder squad. That would seem to be the only explanation for trainer Thomas Schaaf, who was missing a further three players from training on Wednesday. Tim Borowski, Tim Wiese and Aaron Hunt were all absent from the morning session.
At least two of the threesome look likely to miss the friendly against Hajduk Split on Friday, 25.01.2008. Thomas Schaaf was less than optimistic about their chances of a speedy recovery: “Both Tim Wiese and Tim Borowski are laid up in bed with a stomach virus so it’s difficult to say how long it will take for them to recover fully.” On the subject of front man Aaron Hunt, Schaaf urged patience but is hopeful that he will see the young attacker back in action sooner rather than later: “He twisted an ankle in training on Sunday and has been in pain since then. We’ll have to wait and see if he can rejoin training again on Thursday.”
