The loan move from Werder midfielder Carlos Alberto to Brazilian first division club FC Sao Paulo has been completed. The 23 year old will join up with Sao Paulo until 15.07.2008. Werder general manager Klaus Allofs announced on Monday that all the necessary paperwork had been done. Alberto had made the trip to Brazil last Thursday in order to undergo a fitness test which he got through successfully.
Following the departure of the midfield man, Klaus Allofs said: “We discussed the options with Carlos and came to the conclusion that a loan move would be the best for all involved and that he would have another chance to try his luck in Bremen again in six months time.”
The Brazilian said on before leaving: “Considering how the last half year has panned out and all of the health problems which have caused me a lot of set-backs, I would like to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible. I think that will function best in the more familiar surroundings in Brazil where I can get some match practice with Sao Paulo.”
Carlos Alberto made the move to the Weser from Brazilian cup winners Fluminense in July 2007.
