On Thursday afternoon, both Boubacar Sanogo and Carlos Alberto were banished from Werder Bremen's squad for the up coming Bundesliga clash with Energie Cottbus on Saturday. The reason for Thomas Schaaf's decision was an incident during training. After a challenge the duo got involved in some fisty-cuffs and after having been seperated by team mates, the coach sent the pair for an early shower.
Thomas Schaaf made it very clear: "The players here are in a position where they have to set an example. We have to get on together and accept one another. Those who behave in such a manner have to accept the consequences of their actions."
Both players are banned from team training until Sunday and will, until then, partake in a specialised jogging programme. Schaf concluded: "We have come to this decision in spite of the current personnel situation. We cannot accept such behaviour."
