Özkan Yildirim missed the first training day of the week with hip problems, but he returned to practice Wednesday morning. The German U21 international went through only individual training during the morning session but returned to the team training in the afternoon because he had to fill in for Aleksandar Ignjovski. ‘Iggy' had to leave training early with a thigh problem.

"I felt some pain when I was passing the ball. After talking with the coaching staff, I stopped training and made my way to the doctor," said ‘Iggy'. Werder's team doctor Götz Dimanski said the Green-Whites' No. 17 has muscle stiffness in his right thigh. "The medical department is working hard. But I do not know when I can get back into training."

It would definitely be special for Ignjovski to play against Bayern Munich in the up-coming match (Saturday 7 December 2013 at 3:30 p.m.) since he played from 2009-2011 with local rivals 1860 Munich. The Munich native and former 1860 Munich fan Raphael Wolf is in line to play against Bayern. The 25-year-old, who is spending his first week as Werder's top keeper, is really anxious about playing against the reigning German champions. "I am preparing for this match like any other match. But I do sense some butterflies and anxiety," said Wolf. "I hope that the fans really support the team and me. I am really looking forward to the match."
