When Aleksandar Ignjovski headed toward the Weser Stadium training grounds on Tuesday afternoon, the Serbian still had stomach pain. "I was having problems when I coughed," said the 22-year-old after leaving his car and entering the stadium's catacombs.
The examinations under the surveillance of Werder team doctor Götz Dimanski revealed functional upper abdomen discomfort. "We will treat his discomfort physiotherapeutically in the next couple days," said Werder's doctor.
Ignjovski left the Serbian team on Monday ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Scotland because of stomach pain to return to Bremen. It's unclear how long the Werder international will be out of action.
