Werder midfielder Aaron Hunt was handed down a three-match Bundesliga suspension Monday morning by the sports court of the German Football Federation (DFB) in a single judge decision following a rude attack against an opponent. Werder Bremen und Hunt have accepted the ruling.

Hunt was sent off from the pitch with a red card by referee Florian Meyer after a foul on Toni Kroos in the 81st minute of the Bundesliga match at Bayern Munich on Saturday 5 December 2011.

The midfielder will miss the Green-Whites' next three Bundesliga matches against Wolfsburg (Sat. 10 December 2011, at Schalke (Sat. 17 December 2011) and the first match of the second half of the season at Kaiserslautern (Sat. 21 January, 2012).
