Werder's Aaron Hunt has been taking part in the United States trip with the German national team since 22 May, including test matches against Ecuador and the United States. WERDER.DE talked to the Green-Whites' deputy captain.
WERDER.DE: Bremen have done quite a bit during your stay in the United States. During the week your new coach was introduced. What do you think about Robin Dutt?
Aaron Hunt: "I think that Robin Dutt really fits in well with us. I have already asked a couple of players who played for him. The feedback was very positive. There will certainly be some changes. I am looking forward to the new season."
WERDER.DE: And you have a new teammate as well with Cedrick Makiadi coming to the Green-Whites in the summer. What do you think about the transfer?
Aaron Hunt: "I don't know him personally. Of course we have played often against one another. I hope that he fits in well and is a help for us."
WERDER.DE: Let's talk about the U.S. trip. How do you like it?
Aaron Hunt: "I'm in the States for the first time. Until now, everything is good. Miami is a very great city. We have been in Washington since Saturday and it's very warm which makes everything difficult.
WERDER.DE: What does your daily routine look like?
Aaron Hunt: "We have trained once a day, otherwise we are off. We went to two basketball games and watched games two and five of the Conference Finals between Miami and Indiana."
WERDER.DE: And what's it like to see LeBron James live in action? Are you a fan?
Aaron Hunt: "Yeah, now for sure! (laughs) The guy is great. What he does on the court is absolutely crazy. Once it got a little closer he just went off and built like a 10 or 12 point lead. Just really impressive."
WERDER.DE: You did not play against the United States but you were subbed in against Ecuador. How was that for you?
Aaron Hunt: "It wasn't so easy. In the first half Ecuador wasn't even really playing. They made things a lot more difficult for us in the second half. You could see that Ecuador play much more often in those conditions. A couple guys here and there were struggling with the weather. Most important was holding on to the result until the end, and in the end we won. Now I really am looking forward to my holidays."
