Aaron Hunt is back in the German national team as head coach Joachim Löw nominated the Werder Bremen midfielder Thursday afternoon for the 23-man squad for Germany's trip to the United States. "The nomination was somewhat surprising for me. I am very happy that I can be on board," said the 26-year-old Hunt.

During the trip to the States, Germany will play friendlies against Ecuador on Wednesday 29 May 2013 at 8:30 p.m. in Boca Raton and the United States on Sunday 2 June 2013 at 8:30 p.m. in Washington.

Werder's deputy captain has collected two caps for Germany, having last played on August 11, 2010 in a 2-2 draw in Denmark, when he was subbed in for former Bremen teammate Marko Marin. Hunt celebrated his debut a year earlier in Gelsenkirchen in a 2-2 draw against Ivory Coast.
