It's the summer break in the Bundesliga and holiday for SV Werder. Well, not quite! While the players left last weekend for various destinations throughout the world, Thomas Eichin, Robin Dutt and Co. are working hard on plans for next season. They are mainly looking back at the recently-completed season and evaluating which positive aspects are there to build upon.
"It was important for us to see a development this season and we saw that. It's almost too bad that the season already is over because the team was really in a good form. We need to continue our way but also pick things up. We are in the middle of a developmental process which needs a lot of intensive work," said Werder manager Eichin.
Just looking at the number of points, an improvement was clear. The Green-Whites picked up five more points than the previous season. Aaron Hunt really played a big role in the team accomplishing as much as it did with seven goals and nine assists. The midfielder maestro experienced plenty of highs and lows during his 13 years with SV Werder. And his outlook for 2014-15 is for more than the 39 points from this season. "You could see that the team got stronger. We clearly improved ourselves. I am certain that the team will take another step forward next season and will not have any worries about relegation," said Hunt.
