Florian Hartherz and Johannes Wurtz are leaving SV Werder Bremen with immediate effect and heading to second division side SC Paderborn. While Wurtz was sent on loan to the team until 30 June 2014 without a buyout option, the Green-Whites agreed with Paderborn on the sale of Hartherz.

"We always said that we will still get rid of some players. With Florian, a transfer came up a year before the end of his contract. We wish him all the best for the next stop in his career," said Werder manager Thomas Eichin to the departure of the leftback.

Hartherz transferred to SV Werder in 2011 from the youth ranks of VfL Wolfsburg. He played in 29 matches for the Green-Whites' U23 team. He also appeared in 10 Bundesliga matches - all of them in the spring of 2012.

Wurtz's contract with Werder meanwhile runs two more years. The striker should gather some playing experience with Paderborn, who currently are 16th in the league after six match days. "Johannes is an interesting player with good perspectives. But he still needs a little bit of time. We are convinced that he will continue to develop in Paderborn," said Eichin.

Wurtz came to the Green-Whites during the 2012-13 season from 1. FC Saarbrücken. The 21-year-old, who recently played for the German U20 national team, made two brief appearances with Werder's professionals last season. He also collected 16 goals in 29 matches with Werder's U23 team.
