Florian Hartherz has set some lofty goals for the coming season. The youngster shortened his summer holiday and began his preparations for the up-coming season two weeks before the start of training camp.
"I want to be ready from the very beginning. It's important that I am really fit and don't have any problems," the new A-levels graduate told WERDER.DE on Friday. "My goal is to long-term work my way into the professional side."
Hartherz worked out individually other than Tom Trybull and Felix Kroos, who on Monday began their preparations on Monday with the U23 team. "I run at least an hour every day and work out a lot in the weight room at Weser Stadium," said Hartherz.
But the defender's summer break was not as long as it could have been. After the final Bundesliga game day, Hartherz and Niclas Füllkrug travelled with the German U19 team as both Green-Whites participated in a top tournament in Serbia. "After that I went on holiday with my family and friends. It was the first time in a long time that I had two weeks off in a row," said Hertherz.
Besides football, the 19-year-old also had stress about his A-levels exams. "I still had two oral exams for my A-levels and I passed them and now I am done with school. Now I can fully concentrate on football," said Hartherz.
