Werder's players got a chance to check out the Golf 7 on Monday as Clemens Fritz, Aaron Hunt, head coach Thomas Schaaf and company cruised around downtown Bremen and drove to Walle in 16 of the brand new Volkswagen cars.
It was a hard road test for the new Golf. "In my eyes, it passed. I would recommend it," said striker Nils Petersen, who considers the Golf "the ideal companion in the city". He added: "It's compact but also has some good size inside."
The Werder players had a good hour to drive the cars and have them explained. And the players definitely used the time intensively, asking about start-stop automatics, the on-board computer, the boot, and differences to its predecessor. "That was an interesting event and a top car," said Assani Lukimya, who describes himself as a car expert. "I like nice cars but I am not one for the race track. I need something for everyday life. And the Golf is a good start," praised the defender.
