Santiago Garcia and Sebastian Prödl used the day off of training on Wednesday to go through an individual program. Werder's Argentinean made his way back to the grounds and worked on endurance and burden runs with physiotherapist Jürgen Tölle in the morning. "I took my rehab training to the pitch. That felt good. I hope that I can increase the workload day by day," said Garcia after a positive day of work.

The leftback is suffering from ligament irritation in his knee since the away match in Augsburg. In the game, he received a yellow-red card and was suspended for two matches, meaning he will miss the Gladbach match regardless.

Also on the training ground was Prödl as the Austrian international made up the training he had missed from Monday, when he was excused for private reasons.

The entire team will train again on Thursday, but the morning session will be closed to the public.
